The film has no urgency without it and honestly just felt like they were stalling for time the entire film just to set up a sequel. I don't know who decided to not have the MK Tournament but that was such a mistake. I really loved the games as a kid and the trailer looked great! Sadly, the trailer is the best thing about this film. I was cautiously looking forward to this. They should've scrapped it and started fresh.

The villains, aside from Sub-Zero, we're very flat and unthreatening.

Liu Kang, Raiden and Jax were all underused.

So many wasted characters: Reptile, Goro, Kabal, Kung Lao etc.

Especially when using the lines from the game.

Lewis Tan is not a good actor especially considering he's the lead! In fact most of the actors either didn't fit their character or weren't trying hard enough.WTF is the point of Cole Young?
